The Cellar Notebook is published by Wine Investments, a trading name of Cellars.com.au Pty Ltd. Its purpose is to help Australian collectors ask better questions about the wines they buy and the collections they build.
Guides are attributed to the Wine Investments editorial team. They are research-based guides, not claims that Aaron Hamilton personally tasted every wine, visited every vineyard or inspected bottles currently offered for sale.
Sources readers can check
Producer histories, vineyard descriptions and vintage-specific technical details identify their sources. Broader guidance may cite the Australian Wine Research Institute, Halliday Wine Companion, Decanter, Wine Australia or a specialist source with a clear reason for inclusion.
Research credits are non-clickable. Expand the research-sources panel in a guide to see the reference addresses as text. Navigation and further-reading links keep you on WineInvestments.com.au.
A producer’s drinking window is attributed guidance, not our guarantee. Regional vintage summaries are starting points, not a verdict on every wine from a region. The Australian vintage guide explains how to move from a regional impression to the exact label and year.
What these guides are not
- No invented testing: we do not present desk research as a tasting, bottle inspection or personal vineyard visit.
- No live stock claims: a producer profile is not evidence that we have an allocation or can supply every vintage.
- No return forecasts: examples do not promise capital growth, liquidity or resale.
- No hidden quotations: budget calculations are labelled illustrations, not current offers.
Where named producers appear in an overview, inclusion is editorial context rather than a scored investment ranking. Read the producer guide alongside the collecting checklist.
Commercial context
This is the educational part of a commercial wine sourcing website. Our guides may invite readers to contact Aaron and the team. Any sourcing fees, relevant commercial relationships and purchase arrangements must be discussed before you proceed.
A reference to a producer or research publication supports a statement. It is not a claim that the credited organisation endorses Wine Investments.
Updates and corrections
Guide dates identify their most recent substantive update. Publication dates are kept separate in structured data; an unchanged page should not receive a fresh date simply to appear current.
If a linked source changes or you find a factual error, email [email protected] with the page address, the statement in question and any supporting evidence. You can also contact the team about a sourcing question.
Images and authorship
The portrait on our About page shows Aaron Hamilton. A producer guide does not imply that we hold that producer’s wine in stock. Where photographs accompany research, their subjects should be identified accurately.
We do not attach a named independent fact-checker or tasting-panel credential without an actual review. Where a future article involves a named author, tasting or inspection, its scope should be identified on that article.
